Dessert & La Seine
So as I said in the last post you can find here, I'm now going to talk about the amazing and dare I say, divine, choux à la crème at Odette. Sorry it took me longer than I planned to write this, I got distracted by my assignment, also the consistently gloomy and rainy weather made me want to do nothing but cuddle with my blanket all day long (I know right, what a lucky blanket!). Or you don't care it took me longer to write this? You're all like, jeez, who does she think she is? You think we're waiting for your blog posts?
Man, sorry, but you didn't have to be that harsh on me. This makes me wonder though, is anyone reading my writings at all? Hellooooo...?? Anyone there?
Nevertheless, I am going to continue this post. I'm way too excited to share Odette with you guys regardless. So I first stumbled upon Odette last year in December when my little brother was visiting me in Paris. We were just walking around the area around Notre Dame, somehow strolled on Rue Galande, and Odette's very eye-catching store front caught our attention. We decided to check it out and were enticed by the many choux displayed inside. I remember my brother and I bought one each (forgot which flavor though), exchanged pleasantries with the girl working there, said our Au revoir! Bonne journée!, walked out of the store, and ate our choux while walking. The second we tasted the creamy filling, we looked at each other, and almost telepathically sent this signal that we needed more of those little babies. We ended up going back to Odette and bought a box of 6 choux.
So yeah that's why I suggested to my friend we should get our dessert at Odette since it's walking distance from Lapérouse anyway. And my friend also has a sweet tooth so I couldn't wait to introduce her to Odette.
We initially went upstairs to find a table since it has a charming window with all the flowers with Notre Dame view. But since it's summer, there were insects flying around inside the room, so we went downstairs and sat outside instead.
It drizzled a little bit but fortunately, the rain got bored and eventually moved away somewhere else so we could enjoy our afternoon with these choux and clear view of the Notre Dame.
If you happen to be in Paris, you like dessert, you like cream puff, you like cute little café, and you happen to be in the Notre Dame area, check out Odette for a sweet treat. Find more information on their website here.
